Yesterday was a fun day of firsts. We had our first official visitors… My Dad and stepmom Deb came out and took us to lunch at Lake Cuyamaca, about 3 miles from where are posted up. The lake is small and quaint, and the little cafe overlooking it is nothing to laugh at. Our food was tasty! I guess the owner is Austrian so they have fun things on the menu like schnitzel, and some good ol’ American options too. I had the turkey and mashed potato sandwich, which came out on the plate looking more like sliced turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy with a nice side of cranberry sauce and a couple slices of bread. It was like early Thanksgiving dinner!
When we got back to the campsite and dad and Deb headed home, we built Zeph’s new Radio Flyer Tiny Trike that our neighbor Kathleen bought for him to take with us on our cross-country adventure. The gravel around here isn’t the best terrain for bikes with plastic wheels but we made it work for a few minutes. Zeph has been saying “bike” everytime we see one so I’m glad he has his own to play with.
Today we are off to the pumpkin patch in Ramona to meet my brother PJ and his wife and kiddos. We met them last year and had a blast so I know we are in for a day of fun! I’ll post pictures later.
