Our Last Stop – Yachats, OR

Check out the big ol' blocks of cheese!

Check out the big ol’ blocks of cheese!

From Astoria we headed south to the Cape Perpetua area of the Oregon Coast. We made a pit stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory to see what we could see. The place was packed with fellow cheese enthusiasts and it was a zoo in there! It was cool to see all the machinery where they make cheese, and the ice cream was tasty. The free cheese samples were kinda warm which was a wee bit gross. But the grilled cheese sandwich at the snack bar was worth the stop alone! Tillamook makes some good cheese.

From there we hopped back in the Moho and kept driving. We didn’t plan on Yachats being our last stop before home on this journey. We had four or five other stops from here we planned on making while working our way south to our home in Orange County, California. After just over nine months on the road, after a quick Skype session with Chris’s parents, we looked at each other and said “let’s go home.” We had a very peaceful ending to our adventure (before the 18 straight hours of driving).
